Presented
in partnership with San Jose Jazz Society. Third generation
jazz musician Modesto Briseno leads a septet that gives
the listener a sophisticated and warm musical experience.
Clothed with moments of surprise and musical tradition,
the Modesto Briseno Septet features stellar musicians,
each an experienced and
artistic performer. The septet delivers a full and robust
sound that can transform
into a delicately intricate offering.
"My
goal is to create a memorable musical experience for
both the audience and the musicians. The music should
be challenging for the performers and accessible for
the audience. And of course it has to swing!" -

The
M.B. septet features Matt Clark on piano, John Shiflet
on Bass, and Akira Tana on drums. In the front line
we have Modesto on trumpet, Bob Kematsu in the alto/tenor
sax chair, Dave Gregoric plays Trombone, Paul Terrantino
on
tenor/baritone sax.
